About Us
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Established in 1999 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Florida Storm FC was founded by a passionate group of individuals driven by a shared vision: to compete in both domestic and international football tournaments while fostering an inclusive environment for all. That same year, the club made an immediate impact by successfully winning the bid to host the International Gay and Lesbian Football Association (IGLFA) World Cup in 1999. For over a quarter century, Florida Storm FC has proudly represented its community on a global stage—competing in prestigious events such as the Gay Games, OutGames, IGLFA tournaments, and the Rainbow Sports league/tournaments. The club has won multiple local and international championships, consistently setting the standard for excellence in LGBTQ+ football. Today, Florida Storm FC remains one of the top gay football clubs in the world. Our club currently includes two competitive teams—Florida Storm and Fire Storm. As local interest continues to grow, we are expanding to form additional teams under our club umbrella.Join us and become part of a legacy that celebrates diversity, sportsmanship, and unity through the world's most beautiful game.
